Lead Oxide PbO has these uses
Lead Oxide PbO has two crystal forms, α-PbO is red crystal, tetragonal crystal system, density 9.35g/cm3. β-PbO is yellow crystal, orthorhombic crystal system, with a density of 9.64g/cm3. α-PbO can be obtained by boiling β-PbO in water, and α-PbO can also be obtained by grinding β-PbO at room temperature; α-PbO is transformed into β-PbO at 475~583°C.
Lead Oxide PbO is used in the manufacture of PVC plastic stabilizers. It is the raw material of other lead salts.
Lead Oxide PbO is used in the manufacture of high-refractive index optical glass, ceramic enamel, and flat abrasives for precision machine tools.
Lead Oxide PbO is used for electronic tubes, picture tubes, optical glass and X-ray-proof lead glass and radiation-proof rubber products;
Lead Oxide PbO is used for chemical analysis such as determination of gold and silver, precipitation of amino acids.
