Zinc Fluoride ZnF2, white massive or tetragonal crystalline powder, toxic. Slightly hygroscopic. Soluble in hot acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and ammonia, slightly soluble in water and hydrofluoric acid solution, insoluble in ethanol. Those containing 4 molecules of crystal water will lose water at 100°C. Can be stored in glass bottles. Relative density 5.00. poisonous. irritating.
Zinc Fluoride ZnF2 is mainly used in ceramic glaze, electroplating; used as wood impregnating agent, flux and analytical reagent. Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Package is sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidants and edible chemicals, and should not be stored together. Storage areas should be provided with suitable materials to contain spills.
