Fire-fighting measures and emergency release measures for Beryllium Fluoride BeF2
Hazardous properties: Beryllium Fluoride BeF2 emits highly toxic fumes upon exposure to high heat or acid or acid mist.
Hazardous combustion products: hydrogen fluoride, beryllium oxide.
Fire fighting method: Firefighters must wear full-body fireproof and anti-gas suits, and put out the fire in the windward direction. Move containers from the fire to an open area as far as possible when putting out a fire. Then choose the appropriate fire extinguishing agent according to the cause of the fire.
Emergency release treatment
Isolate the leaked contaminated area and restrict access. Beryllium Fluoride BeF2 emergency responders are advised to wear dust masks and protective clothing. Do not come into direct contact with spillage.
Small spills: Sweep up carefully and collect in an airtight container.
Large spills: Collect Beryllium Fluoride BeF2 for recycling or transport to a waste disposal site for disposal.
